The network we weave together.

SentinElles is the mutual-aid app for women on the move. It draws on women's collective intelligence to make every journey calmer — with no profile and no history kept.

The problem

A massive issue, concentrated in public transport.

Beyond the street, it is in the Paris region's public transport that women are most exposed: the network, more than any other public space, concentrates the heaviest share of recorded gender-based and sexual violence. SentinElles starts from this fact.

Sources: MIPROF, French National Observatory on Violence Against Women, RATP-Enov (2022-2025).

91%

of victims of sexual violence on public transport are women

7%

only file a complaint — most of it stays invisible

The only app built on the network's data SentinElles is today the only app that combines community reporting with Île-de-France Mobilités open data, in a “data for good” approach. The public-transport journey is treated as a space in its own right, not just a line between two points on a map.

On your phone and on your wrist.

A network of mutual aid, not an alarm

Built by and for women.

SentinElles is not a surveillance system. It's a living network, woven by its users, to feel supported in their everyday journeys.

Women's collective intelligence

A network woven by the users themselves. Ground knowledge comes from them, journey after journey.

Mutual aid, not fear

A product and a message designed to reassure, at every step of the journey.

Human verification

Every entry is validated by a sponsor or by the team. The community stays protected, profiles stay anonymous.

Mutual aid, in an app

Designed for the real journey.

Six mechanisms that support every step of a journey, from departure to arrival.

Sponsorship

A sponsor you trust

Matched with a verified sponsor or sponsee — the heart of the mutual-aid system.

Route

“The calmest”

A route designed to avoid risk zones, not just the fastest way.

Transit

Real-time tracking

The whole Paris-region network integrated, connected to public-transport data (IDFM).

Presence

“I'm here” mode

Chat anonymously with other sentinelles nearby, whenever you want.

Community

Verified reports

Reported, confirmed, resolved. A life cycle that makes the map reliable, zone by zone.

Well-being

Post-journey check-in

A mood check after each run. Because well-being matters too.

Joining the network

A network woven by trust.

The identity-verification flow to enter SentinElles.

  1. 1

    Two ways in

Be invited by a trusted friend who becomes your sponsor, or join directly through the app.

  2. 2

    ID and selfie

Each member submits an ID document and a photo. Facial recognition makes the first match.

  3. 3

    Final human check

The final verification is always done by a person — the sponsor, or failing that the SentinElles team.

“I'm here” mode When on, the user appears on the map and can chat anonymously with sentinelles nearby. When off, it's full anonymity: no visibility at all.
Privacy, by design

No profile, no trace.

An architecture designed for GDPR from the very first line of code, not bolted on afterwards.

No persistent profile

No individual location history. Only anonymized aggregates feed the analytics.

Anti-abuse algorithm

The matching system detects and prevents misuse or coordinated malicious activity.

GDPR-native

Architecture built in-house: FastAPI, PostGIS, BigQuery, React Native, GCP.

Limited risk surface

No sensitive database of individual movements to secure over time. No advertising, no data sales.

Let's build together

For local authorities, companies and associations.

Public sector

Residents' well-being, at the scale of your territory

For cities, départements and regions: a concrete service for residents' well-being, plus mobility reports and analyses produced from our data. A “data for good” building block for your gender-equality and mobility policies.

Companies

The commute, made safer

A natural extension of your CSR and workplace-wellbeing commitments. Safer routes, mutual aid between colleagues, a turnkey pilot with an internal communication kit.

Associations

A concrete tool for the field

SentinElles complements, without ever replacing, the fieldwork of associations. Free access for your beneficiaries, co-design workshops, a ready-to-use outreach kit.
